During the period 2011-2016, Dennis joined
CBRE Global Investors as Chief Financial and Operations Officers for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. CBRE Global Investors was established in 2011 as the merger company of the former CBRE Investors business in Europe and the UK and the former ING Real Estate Investment Management activities, the latter having been acquired from ING by CBRE at that time.

Dennis' role within the company included various elements summarized below:

  • As a member of the European Executive Committee, the CFO/COO EMEA is (jointly) responsible for defining the corporate strategy and business development in the region, the oversight and execution of all investment policies and programs in the region, performing portfolio performance review and risk management activities, corporate performance and remuneration within the region, and establishing adequate internal control mechanisms.

  • As a member of the European Investment Committee, the CFO/COO EMEA (jointly) oversees and approves all decisions related to capital transactions made on behalf of the investment program and its investors. This includes review and approval of acquisitions and dispositions, ensuring fair allocation of investment proposals (while dealing with possible conflicts of interests) and review and approval of (re)financing and derivatives proposals.

  • The CFO/COO EMEA coordinates the daily operations and activities in the region. Oversees all accounting practices in the region, including fund financial management, investment reporting and treasury & debt financing. Oversees the Information Technology function in EMEA.

  • The CFO/COO EMEA is responsible for budgeting and forecasting for regional management, including preparation of current financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook, as well as for the region’s accounting, budget, insurance and tax functions as part of CBRE Group, Inc.

  • In conjunction with country level leaders, the CFO/COO EMEA reviews, analyzes, assesses and establishes new business opportunities.

  • As a member of the EMEA Remuneration Committee, the CFO/COO EMEA (jointly) oversees and approves the region’s remuneration framework including its principles, procedures and governance around remuneration and performance management as well as specific promotion and other proposals.
